5Proposals – exhibition and workshops

The project, 5Proposals, combines a group exhibition in the HGB Gallery with an accompanying program and five internal workshops for students of all disciplines at the Academy. The exhibition presents installations, video works, sculptures and performances by five internationally renowned Lithuanian artists. The works shown can be understood not only as ‘proposals’ for a specific perspective on art and the world, but equally as a suggestion for the content, formal or medial engagement in the workshops from each artist. In addition to the discourse on materials, themes and methods, the (self-) survey of the participants, regarding the social role of art, plays a central role within the workshops. The results from the workshops will be found in the entryway of the exhibition over its duration, broadening the respective presentations of the artists.

Participating artists: Eglė Budvytytė in collaboration with Bart Groenendaal, Mindaugas Gapševičius, Žilvinas Landzbergas in collaboration with Ūla Tornau, Dainius Liškevičius and Sisters From Another Mister

5Proposals is a project by the Gallery of the Academy of Visual Art, the Faculty of Media Art and the Lithuanian Culture Institute.
