TÉLÉ RÉALITÉ, by Lucile Desamory, Glodie Mubikay and Gustave Fundi was shot in both Kinshasa and Belgium, tells the story of the preparation of a reality TV show taking place during carnival in Belgium. The show is planned by three congelese producers. Hawaly, their Burundian show-runner is supposed to prepare the shooting in Belgium effectively but her Belgian colleague is too busy with the supernatural. The film, co-directed by Lucile Desamory, Glodie Mubikay and Gustave Fundi, had its world premiere at the 70th Berlinale in 2020. They worked on the film (after a screenplay by Damien Desamory) without having met otherwise than trough social media. They met in real life after the shooting was complete. With this film, Lucile, Glodie and Gustave create a tunnel and try to open up other possibilities of engagement, a carnaval of shared narratives, a telepathic channel.

The screening if followed by a talk with artist and filmmaker Lucile Desamory. Lucile Desamory is interested in the frontiers of perception, in the „too much“, the falsified – in the spurned narratives. This interest in marginal phenomena always requires to change the medium. She uses painting, collage, photography, film, and her voice. She combines these techniques into larger webs such as installations, films, radio plays and live performances.
Many projects are created as collaborations like for example the theater play The Extraordinary Wig with Antonia Baehr in 2020, the performance Asteroseismology 2018 with Sabine Ercklentz and Margareth Kammerer. Desamory’s work has been exhibited internationally amongst others at Tate Modern, the Shanghai Biennale “Cosmos Cinema” and steirischer herbst 2023 що.
Lucile Desamory just completed a television series that is also a feature film, “De Wervelende Wiwar – The Swirling Tangle”.
